BROMSGROVE residents are being invited to put their best foot forward for a charity fundraiser.

Stoke Heath fundraiser Nicole Harris, the chairman of Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research’s Bromsgrove and District Voluntary Branch, is encouraging residents to sign up to the branch's fun run which this year is being held on Sunday, May 10.

The event is in its 27th year, and over the years it has raised thousands for the charity.

The fun run is being held at Bromsgrove Rugby Club, in Finstall Road.

Participants have a choice of races to enter. For serious runners there is the 10 kilometre race, while the five kilometre, starting five minutes later, is for fun runners.

In a new innovation, all runners will be chip timed this year so that they will have an accurate completion time when they cross the finish line.

Nicole said around 250 runners had already registered for the event, which is usually the figure they have the day before the run.

The entrance fee is £11.50 - for athletic association affiliated members - a standard fee of £12.50, or pay £15 on the day.

Entrants registering before the day receive a fundraising pack, a race number and a finishers' medal.

There are also prizes for first, second and third places in male and female categories, and for veterans in both runs.

Runners who fundraise prior to the day get a t-shirt.
