TWO Bromsgrove groups have joined forces for a new song and dance extravaganza.

Bromsgrove Operatic Society and Bromsgrove School of Dance have collaborated on Movie to Musicals, which takes audiences from the big screen to the stage.

Both have been established for more than 30 years and wanted to provide something a little different with visual and vocal elements.

Organisers say the show promises to be a a song and dance extravaganza, including excerpts from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Shrek, Ghost, Oliver and Billy Elliot.

The show's director, Dean Bayliss, said: “When approached to produce the show I jumped at the chance. It’s a great concept bringing popular musicals to the local stage, showcasing local talent.

"Working with Sarah-Jane Preedy who teaches at Bromsgrove School of Dance and Notorious, their dance troupe, has resulted in a fantastic marriage of song and dance."

Notorious has previously performed at various events including charity shows at the Chateaux Impney, and at half time performance at the Worcester Wolves Basketball Arena and Warriors Rugby club.
