POLICE are investigating the theft of a van in Cofton Hackett.

At around 10.30am on Thursday, June 25, in Oakfield Drive, a 51-year-old woman from Rednal was approached by an unknown man who spoke with her as she was driving her silver Ford Transit Connect van.

She got out of her van on Ashmead Rise and left the keys in the ignition whilst she knocked on the door of a nearby house.

Someone then stole the van and drove off.

Police are keen to speak with anyone who witnessed the incident as well as the man who spoke with the victim prior to the van being stolen.

The man was white, 5ft 11ins, and was carrying a JD bag over his shoulder.

Anyone who recognises the man described or who saw the van itself around the time of the incident is asked to call police on 101, quoting incident 204 of June 15.
