PARENTS preparing youngsters for nursery or school can get help through a new transition sessions.

Early Help provides the sessions over the summer holidays for families with children aged between two and five years.

The aim of the sessions is to prepare both children as well as parents and guardians, for nursery or school with a positive and encouraging approach.

Tips, information, children’s activities and reassurances will be available throughout the sessions from experienced staff.

Liz Griffiths, operational manager, said: “The move to nursery or ‘big school’ is an exciting and important time for children and parents.

"Transitions are a part of growing up and can feel as daunting for parents as for their child. Whilst it can be an exciting time it can also be a cause for apprehension. Working together with a positive approach will help children become confident and thrive and adapt to this new challenge. It is the end of an era but the beginning of another.”

Sessions are being held at various town venues including Early Help Centres; Sunny Fields, Pear Tree, and Tulip Tree.

Bromsgrove District Council suggests people interested should register before Friday, July 31.
