A BROMSGROVE company organised a day of fundraising challenges that helped raise thousands for charity.

Employees at Johnson Fleming, at Bromsgrove Enterprise Park in Aston Road, completed a variety of challenges on Friday, July 10.

One of the activities saw staff take the plunge on a dunking chair outside the Johnson Fleming office.

Crowds formed at the event, as representatives from Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service attended.

Staff did something funny for money, receiving support from family and friends to perform a wide range of wacky activities including sitting in a bath of baked beans, a sponsored silence, a jail break, a complete shaving of the head and a sponsored walk in wellies filled with custard.

Banner's Cafe and Restaurant employees helped Johnson Fleming staff by bringing the Mediterranean to the heart of Aston Fields by cooking up paella, which sold out in less than two hours.

Transfer services executive Simon Millward completed a sponsored eight mile walk to work, while other members completed a 55 mile cycle at the Ryland Centre, completing the challenge in three hours and one minute.

Volunteers from the firm also supported the Good Soil Project helping to paint and complete other handy work tasks.

Teams took part in variety of events throughout the day, including a family fun day and a high street market stall.

An impressive £4,600 was raised for the CLIC Sargent charity, which supports children undergoing cancer treatment helping to ensure their families are with them.

Luke Dunn, from the firm, said: "We would like to thank everybody that helped make this day a success."
