THE annual charity motorcycle scramble is returning to Middle Hill, Park Farm in Hanbury this Sunday, featuring a round of the British solo championship, and the British sidecar championship.

The scramble, which raises money for local Hanbury and church charities, is promising to be a trip down memory lane for enthusiasts, with riders competing on bikes from the 1950s 60s and 70s including B.S.A, Matchless, Cheney and Rickman machinery, as well as European two strokes including Bultaco, Husqvarna and CZ bikes.

The track, which was used in the 1960s will feature races for solo riders and sidecars, with several stars from the heyday of the sport taking part.

Spectators will be able to get a good view from the top of the hill, and this year the event is reaching its 50th anniversary, and featuring a new ‘British Thumper’ class with awards for the most original and best prepared bike, as well as trophies for the top three in the class.

The scramble is taking place on Sunday, August 30 in Hanbury, behind the Vernon Arms pub, and will be well signposted.

Practise will start from 9.30am with races starting from 11am. Entry is £5 for adults and free for children. For more information call 01299 404631.
