A COUPLE from Rubery who started a supper club in their own front room are appealing for help to make their dream of opening a restaurant a reality.

Husband and wife team Paul and Jo Corrall got the taste for success after turning their front room into a restaurant for the evening.

Since then they have done all they can to feed their foodie desire, including moving on from their living room and renting the Kitchen Garden Café in Kings Heath.

The couple are there most Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays evenings until at least Christmas serving reasonably priced good quality food in a relaxed atmosphere.

The dream is to open a small independent restaurant in the B45 area.

Paul, an experienced chef, said: "I would love a little restaurant in Rubery or the surrounding area. I think there is a real need for an independent restaurant that's run by local people.

"However, I am a little apprehensive to whether it would actually work or not so am trying to build up a customer base. By renting the space at the Kitchen Garden Café we can build up a customer base that hopefully one day we can bring to Rubery."

The couple purchase all their ingredients locally using local butchers and farm shops, and even get four-year-old son Alfie involved with picking wild fruit.

Paul said: "Our nights are about quality food in a fun relaxed atmosphere. It would be great to get local people from Rubery and Bromsgrove supporting us in Kings Heath."

He added that anyone with a suitable venue in or around Rubery that could be used to host an evenings, to get in touch.
