A BROMSGROVE stroke survivor is overcoming the challenges faced after her stroke when she takes to the catwalk.

Mum of two Carol Brogan, from Fairfield, had a stroke in May 2013, followed by a heart attack the following July.

Before her stroke the 55-year-old worked at her local post office, but afterwards she was left with difficulties with memory, concentration and weakness in her right side, making it unable to return to her role.

This Thursday, October 1, Carol will model clothes from Bromsgrove retailer M&Co in a fashion show held at the store, alongside other stroke survivors supported by the Stroke Association’s Life After Stroke Centre in Bromsgrove. All funds raised through the show will go towards Bromsgrove Lions.

The Lions are supporters of the charity, arranging trips and tickets for stroke survivors who attend sessions and activities at the centre as part of their recovery.

Carol said: “I’ve taken part in fashion shows a long time ago, but this is the first time I’ve done anything like this since I had my stroke. I’m a little nervous about the day but looking forward to taking part – I just hope I make my family proud.”

The fashion show is being held at 7.30pm at the shop in High Street.

Tickets for the show cost £5, and are available in store.
