THE vicar of Bromsgrove and the Archdeacon of Dudley hit the streets of Bromsgrove on Wednesday, February 10 to say a prayer for passers-by.
As part of their annual Pray One for Me campaign, Vicar Ray Khan and Archdeacon Nikki Groarke were stationed on Bromsgrove high street writing down prayer requests which were then prayed at Ash Wednesday services.
Members of churches in Dudley, Pershore, Upton, Stourbridge and Broadway also took prayers in their towns to encourage people to focus on the difference a prayer can make in time for Lent.
Bishop Graham, who joined the team in Dudley, said: “Ash Wednesday begins the Christian season of Lent, a time of prayer and preparation for Holy Week and Easter when we remember Jesus’ death and resurrection.”
Church members will be praying throughout lent for the people they met this week.
