TRAINS are now running as usual at Bromsgrove after a man was killed after being struck by a train close to Droitwich Spa railway station.

British Transport Police said they attended the incident at 5.46am today, Thursday, May 19, and are currently treating the incident as non-suspicious.

The train involved was the 5.30am Worcester Shrub Hill to Dorridge.

Paramedics attended and the man was pronounced dead at the scene, which is understood to be near the Ladywood crossing.

A file is being prepared for the coroner.

Network Rail said the lines affecting rail travel have now reopened and that trains between Worcester and Kidderminster/Bromsgrove are running as usual.
