AS part of the Bromsgrove Festival, Avoncroft Museum is hosting a series of Wednesday lunchtime concerts throughout June and July.
The concert series begins on Wednesday, June 22 at noon with a sit-down lunch in New Guesten Hall accompanied by singing group Papagena, who will be performing an hour-long concert titled ‘A Musical Cocktail’, singing works ranging from Purcell to Katy Perry.
On June 29 Michael Seal, associate conductor of the CBSO will be giving a talk, and sharing tales of his musical experiences with retired CBSO timpanist Peter Hill.
On July 6 there will be a concert from the Orchestra of St John, who will be performing Schubert’s Octet, while on July 13 Michael Lunts will be preforming his hour-long Noel Coward inspired programme ‘Coward at Sea’.
Finally on July 20, The Birmingham Horn Sound, a group of eight horn players, will be performing together as a chamber group with everything from classical to jazz.
The concerts will all begin at noon on a Wednesday. Tickets are priced at £15 which includes a sit down lunch, and they must be purchased in advance from the Bromsgrove Festival website at bromsgrovefestival.co.uk, or by post from: Festive Classics, 2 College Walk, Bromsgrove B60 2ND, with cheques made payable to ‘Festive Classics’.
Tickets for the concert only (not including lunch) can be purchased on the door for £8.
