MEMBERS of Bromsgrove Motorcycle Club have raised more than £700 for the Bromsgrove Macmillan Cancer Support Fund Raising Group with a number of activities organised over the past few months.

Every year the club raises money for a nominated charity, and this year members chose Macmillan, after losing long-standing and popular member Chris Cox to cancer.

Steve Coley from the club, said: “Chris’ widow Jackie, bravely decided that she would donate many of his motorcycling associated possessions to be sold at the club’s annual bring and buy sale, where auctioneer and founding member Keith Bush managed to sell a large number of goods on the night.

“The remaining items were taken into the care of fellow founding member, Peter Maskell, who used his old market trading skills to good effect, including setting up a clothes rail outside his house, to sell what was left.”

The club also organised an American Supper for 50 members and their guests, and managed to present a cheque for £767 to guests Judy and Davis Waller from the Macmillan fundraising group for their charity.
