A COURSE teaching people how to be mindful is launching at Tardebigge Community Hall in September.

The training, organised by The Mindfulness Association, starts with a one-weekend foundation course, and is followed by three weekend sessions, which make up the Mindfulness Practitioner Certificate Course.

Tutor Rosina Morrison said: "The training and practice helps to promote a way of being that helps us take better care of ourselves and others and to lead happier lives. I think that is probably something everybody wants."

The course aims to help those taking part become "more present" and accepting of themselves.

Rosina added: "It can sound very serious, but one of the things I love about this training is that it is warm and friendly. The training itself feels like taking care of ourselves."

The foundation course will take place on September 24 and 25, but there is another at the Birmingham Buddhist Centre for those who can't make it.

The first practitioner weekend is December 3 and 4 and the third and fourth weekend sessions are set to take place in March and May.
