A 'ONE stop shop' is making it easier for people with a burning passion for history and heritage to see volunteering opportunities in their area.
Museums Worcestershire and Avoncroft Museum of Historic Buildings have created an online volunteering portal that brings together the opportunities for volunteering in the museum, heritage and arts sector across Worcestershire.
The website, worcsvolunteering.org, which has now been launched, not only highlights volunteering opportunities at Museums Worcestershire's sites and Avoncroft Museum, but at cultural organisations across the county - from The Transport Museum in Wythall to Route to the Hills in Malvern.
It aims to make volunteering more accessible to everyone by bringing different opportunities together on an easy to use website.
The website caters for a range of volunteering opportunities - from photography to tour guides to gardening.
Gemma Dhami, volunteering and partnerships manager at Museums Worcestershire, said: "Volunteers are the life blood of the cultural sector, helping organisations to continue making sure that Worcestershire has a vibrant cultural offer for residents and tourists alike."
Prospective volunteers can register to be kept updated with new opportunities as they are released.
Cultural organisations that have not yet signed up to be involved in the project are urged to contact Gemma on gdhami@worcestershire.gov.uk.
