A WOMAN has been taken to hospital after a car crashed into a tree in Belbroughton.

Emergency services were called at around 3.30pm yesterday afternoon (Thursday, August 25) to the single vehicle collision in Holy Cross Lane.

The car hit a tree and was left balancing on its wheels in a dangerous position up an embankment.

The road was closed until just before 10pm last night and the police told residents to avoid the area. They later thanked the public for their patience.

West Midlands Ambulance Service treated a woman in her 40s with some back pain. She was taken by ambulance to The Alexandra Hospital in Redditch.

A 12-year-old girl was uninjured and discharged at the scene.

Firefighters from Bromsgrove, Stourbridge and Kidderminster were in attendance to make the car safe.
