CARE services provided by the county council have been rated ‘good’ in a new inspection.

Worcestershire County Council’s Home Care Services were handed the score during inspections from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) carried out on June 28 and July 1.

Grades for being safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led were all marked ‘good’ – the same as their overall rating – which is the second-highest in the grading structure.

The services provide personal care to people living in their own homes, including short-term support to maximise independence and longer-term support for people with dementia.

Councillor Sheila Blagg, Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care said: "This service provides essential care and it is reassuring that services users are receiving such high quality care.

"This is great news for both staff and services users and demonstrates our commitment to putting the needs of our services users first despite the current challenges.

"I would like to thank all the staff for their hard work and commitment in providing this highly rated service."

The report highlighted staff "had caring relationships" with people, possessed "good understanding" of their responsibilities and were "responsive" to people’s needs.

Sander Kristal, Director of Adult Social Care added: "I too would like to offer my thanks all the staff for their dedication and achievements in having their work rated Good.

"The CQC report makes it very clear that that service users are receiving an all-round, top quality service."
