AN elderly man, who was hit by a car as he tried to cross the A38 road in Bromsgrove, died as the result of an accident, a coroner has ruled.
Ernest Styles, 91, was attempting to cross the junction with Stoke Road and Charford Road near KFC on June 9 this year when he was struck by a car, causing him severe injuries.
He was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, but, despite the best efforts of the clinicians, he deteriorated and died on June 29.
An inquest, held at Worcestershire Coroner's Court, found that Mr Styles had died from respiratory failure and multiple traumatic injuries.
The coroner closed the inquest on Friday, concluding that Mr Styles had died as the result of an accident.
