RESIDENTS are in for an explosive night in Sanders Park this November 5, as the line-up for a bonfire night spectacular is announced.

The event, hosted by Bromsgrove District Council, will boast a charity fire walk, fun fair and food, alongside live music and, of course, fireworks.

The Urban Folk Quartet will be headlining at this family-friendly bonfire, and Bromsgrove singer Jasmine Rawlings will also be performing.

Bromsgrove-based cancer support charity Primrose Hospice will be receiving a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales.

Cllr Peter Whittaker, portfolio holder for leisure and culture services, said: "We’re excited for this year’s top quality entertainment and it’s a double charity event this time. Primrose Hospice will once again share in any proceeds from ticket sales, and Sight Concern are doing a thrilling fire walk, so at the end of the day it’s not just a fun event that brings people together from across the community but it helps good causes too.”

Music will be played from 5pm, with the fire walk taking place at 6pm, before the bonfire is lit at 7pm and fireworks set off shortly after.

The Sight Concern fire walk will raise funds to support blind and partially sighted people in the county to lead independent lives.

To register to take part at a cost of £5, call 01905 332914. All walkers will get a certificate and photograph of their daring deed, and a t-shirt for anyone raising more than £150.

Tickets for a family of two adults and two children cost £14, or £5 for a single adult and £3 per child. Under two-year-olds enter for free.

They are on sale now from the Primrose Hospice shops and the district council's Parkside Customer Service Centre.

There will also be cash-only sales from a High Street market stall on November 4 and 5, from 11am to 3pm, as well as on the gate on the evening from 5pm.

Kidderminster Road will be closed to vehicles from 5pm on the night, but ample parking will be available in the town's car parks a short distance away. See bromsgrove.gov.uk/parking for more details.
