YEAR two pupils at St Peter's Catholic First School had a live video call with ocean explorers aboard a scientific drilling ship, as part of their lessons on the ocean.
The explorers were midway through a voyage of the Pacific Ocean on the JOIDES Resolution, but took a break to show Bromsgrove children photos from their quests and tell them about life aboard the ship.
St Peter's pupils also visited a research lab, and prepared questions beforehand to ask during their trip.
Marie Douglas, year two class teacher, said: "What an exciting experience for the children - it has really made our topic of ‘The Ocean’ come alive."
