PARENTS in Bromsgrove are being urged to sign up to a new first aid course to learn skills that could save a child's life.
Bromsgrove NCT has teamed up with local first aid trainer Jan Maycock to organise the courses, which have been specially adapted to parents and carers of babies and pre-school children.
The courses are two hours long and cover topics such as CPR, choking and burns.
Clair Strachan, Bromsgrove NCT's baby first aid co-ordinator, said: "Many parents and grandparents feel anxious about what to do for for a child in an emergency. The NCT baby first aid course is a chance to learn the essentials, ask questions and practice on dummies to help them feel more prepared in a crisis."
The course costs £12.50 or £20 per couple and the next session is set to take place on Saturday, December 3 at St Peter's Community Hall in Rock Hill.
Places can be booked online at nct.org.uk/branches/bromsgrove/first-aid-awareness-class-baby-and-child. For further information, contact Claire on firstaid.bromsgrove@nct.org.uk.
