STAFF at a Redditch car dealership have been working in top gear to help raise almost £500 for Bromsgrove’s Primrose Hospice.

Cherrywood Cars, a used car dealership based in Astwood Business Park, donated £10 to the hospice for every car sold between November 25 and December 24.

The company, who also donated an ‘experience day’ for the hospice’s raffle at their annual Christmas Fayre, raised a total of £480 from the sale of 48 cars.

Martine Henstone, Director at Cherrywood Cars, said: "We are supporting Primrose for many reasons. Firstly we think Primrose is a wonderful charity and deserve supporting.

"A few members of Cherrywood staff have recently lost members of family and/or friends, or seen them struggle through treatments, and witness the heartbreak that a difficult illness can bring."

Kate Kelly, Corporate Fundraiser at Primrose Hospice, said: "We’re really delighted that Cherrywood Cars is supported us with this initiative.

"We feel it’s important that local businesses take an interest in local charities and these fundraising events are vitally important as Primrose Hospice relies heavily on donations to provide our services for free."

The hospice provides free care, advice and support to patients living with life-limiting illnesses and their families living in North East Worcestershire.
