STRONG winds in Bromsgrove on Wednesday night have forced a large tree to topple over on to several graves in the cemetery on Church Road.
Bromsgrove District Council workers were sent to investigate the damage, but have been unable to remove the tree due to its size.
Head of environmental services Guy Revans said: “A large tree in the Old Bromsgrove Cemetery was blown down on Wednesday night in high winds.
"We can see some damage but due to the sheer size of the tree and the surrounding graves we’re having to carefully cut it into manageable pieces to be able to clear it.
"Once the site is deemed to be safe we will be able to thoroughly investigate any damage.”
