OWNERS of a popular Toby Carvery in Marlbrook have denied the chain will close to become a Miller & Carter, but admit they are "considering a number of sites" to introduce the steakhouse.

In a trading statement released on Friday, January 13, owners Mitchells & Butlers announced plans to complete around 300 remodels of restaurant chains in their UK portfolio.

Rumours circulating online stated that the carvery on Birmingham Road was among those set to be remodelled.

The company insist Marlbrook’s Toby Carvery is staying put, but admit they are considering sites to expand their Miller & Carter brand.

A spokesman said: "We are constantly reviewing our estate to ensure we have the right brand in the right location.

"Miller & Carter is one of our successful brands which we are looking to expand and therefore we are considering a number of sites within our current business portfolio.

"However, at this stage we have no plans to convert the Toby Carvery Marlbrook and the carvery will continue to trade as normal.

"We are always looking for further opportunities for new Miller & Carter openings moving forward."

Mitchells & Butlers have 10 restaurants and pubs in the Bromsgrove district, including Premium Country Pubs, Vintage Inns, and a Harvester.

There is currently no Miller & Carter in Worcestershire, although a chain in Worcester is expected to open before the end of 2017.
