A NEW market for young people will open in Bromsgrove High Street next weekend.

On Saturday, March 25, between 9.30am and 4pm, the street be kitted out with stalls selling products from a range of unique businesses - most of which are owned by local entrepreneurs under the age of 17.

Stalls will be run by youngsters from across north Worcestershire, providing young people in Bromsgrove the opportunity to sell their goods and services to the public.

Among the items on offer will be handmade wooden wine racks and plaques, quirky mugs and crafted candles.

Many of the products will have a Mother's Day or Easter theme.

Cllr Karen May, whose portfolio covers economic development, said: "We’re very excited at the prospect of the Youth Market coming to the High Street next weekend. It is great that the young entrepreneurs of the future will get this opportunity to sell their wares and show off the hard work that has gone into creating their businesses. Please stop by and support them as you do your shopping in Bromsgrove."

The Youth Market is the result of a partnership between Bromsgrove District Council and Young Enterprise.

Many of the traders are taking part in Young Enterprise's 'Company Programme', which enables young people to set up their own businesses.
