ARTRIX has been named the best arts and theatre venue in Worcestershire by What's On readers.

After winning the Best Small Arts and Theatre Venue award last year, the Artrix team say they are thrilled to have been recognised for the centre's growth and ambition over the last 12 months, despite a 'difficult financial climate'.

Artrix director Hannah Phillips said: "We are thrilled to have won this award and we would like to thank our audiences, volunteers, artists and partners for their continuing support. Thank you to everyone who voted for us, it is a particularly special award knowing it has been voted for by the public."

"This is also really good news for Bromsgrove for Artrix to be recognised as the best arts venue across Worcestershire. We are certainly getting bigger and more ambitious."

Over the past year, Artrix has diversified its programme of music, comedy, film and performances to include drive-in events, baby raves, bubble discos and screenings for people with special needs.

The Artrix cafe is also now open Monday to Saturday with a free soft play area for under-three-year-olds.

Hannah added: "This is a very difficult financial climate for the arts, so please keep visiting and supporting us to enable us to serve the local community and beyond."
