A FORMER snooker world champion will be challenging guests at Lickey End Social Club on May 7, to raise money for the charity which helped a Bromsgrove boy battle cancer.

The Advertiser told readers of Ethan Warman's inspiring story in February, after the 23-month-old was forced to have his eye removed when he was diagnosed with Retinoblastoma, a rare and potentially fatal form of cancer.

Bromsgrove Advertiser:

The Alcester Road social club is supporting Ethan's family with their ongoing fundraising by hosting a 12-hour charity snooker marathon, guest staring Stuart Bingham, to raise funds for the Childhood Eye Cancer Trust.

The event has been organised by professional snooker coach Kevin Ellis, who will also be challenging visitors to a game on the day.

Stephen Tristram, of Lickey End Social Club, said: "We have already had great local support, with many local businesses gifting us items to raffle.

"Former snooker world champion Stuart Bingham has given up his time to make a guest appearance. Stuart will be here from 1pm until 6pm and we will raffle off chances to play him."

Bromsgrove Advertiser:

The event is set to run from 10am to 10pm. Tickets cost £5 and all proceeds will be donated to charity.
