THE wheels are in motion for the first ever Barnt Green Motor Festival, which takes place in July.

More than 60 residents have registered their vehicles for the display in the village on Hewell Road on Sunday, July 2, from 2pm to 5pm.

Motor cycles range from Lambretta scooters to Harley Davidsons, while cars include a Model T Ford, a Hummer, and classics such as E Type Jaguars.

Councillor Robert Cholmondeley, chairman of Barnt Green Parish Council, who have organised the event, said: “We know people have unusual cars tucked away in their garages and we’ve aimed to provide the opportunity to show them off with our first motor festival.

“We’ve had a positive response and we’re now just hoping the weather will be kind to us!”

There will be an award for the best car of the day and a competition for children.

The event is free, with food and drink also be available in the village.
