THREE fraudsters are being hunted by police after they sold a faulty television to a stranger from the back of a van.
On Wednesday, July 12 at 2.55pm, the victim stopped off at Frankley service station off the M5, and was parked in the main car park when he was approached by the group in a white Peugeot van.
The men asked him if he wanted to buy a Samsung television, which was still boxed, for £250.
He agreed and handed over the money in exchange for the box, which was unloaded from the back of the van.
When the victim later checked the contents of the box, he discovered it was damaged.
Police suspect the suspects knowingly sold damaged, and possibly stolen, goods, deceiving them into believing the television was in mint condition and committing fraud in the process.
Anyone with information on the incident is urged to contact West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident number 412s.
