A NEW luxury watch brand - featuring individually-crafted wooden dials - has been named after a Bromsgrove woods.
Droitwich entrepreneur Paul Masters has officially launched his own watch-making business, named 'Hanbury' after the woodland off Hanbury Road.
The 24-year-old's creations fuse handmade dials, using responsibly-sourced maple, with Swiss quartz movements, anti-reflective sapphire crystal, top-grain Italian leather straps and stainless steel cases.
Paul told the Advertiser: "The story starts in the heart of Worcestershire, at my local forest where I grew up. It was there that I developed a love for the great outdoors and became inspired to create Hanbury.
"Each watch is completely unique as each wood grain is naturally different. I wanted it to be affordable but at the same time have top quality components."
Paul has set up a campaign on the crowd-sourcing website Kickstarter, where he is selling his watches for £99. He has also partnered with the campaign Trees For The Future to plant a tree for every watch sold.
Paul added: "Our goal is to help improve the livelihoods of impoverished farmers by revitalising degraded lands - one watch at a time."
