ORPHANED children in a remote south east village in Zimbabwe will be provided clean water thanks to a donation from the Rotary Club of Bromsgrove.
The club has contributed just over £1,100 which matches the full cost of a water tank and stand for the Lirhanzo Children’s Village in Zimbabwe.
Installation will begin shortly to supply the children with safe, clean water to drink.
Secretary Ron Pearce said: “As a club, we are absolutely delighted to support the children living there with a charitable donation, so that clean water for all their needs becomes a reality in their everyday lives.
“One of the members of the Rotary Club of Bromsgrove has established a connection with the Lirhanzo Children's Village in Zimbabwe, and has seen at first-hand how basic the facilities are there.
“We take for granted the availability of clean water at the turn of a tap, a luxury which these children do not enjoy currently, with all the obvious difficulties presented by such living conditions.”
