VISITORS to Bromsgrove's Christmas Festival next weekend will be asked for their feedback on a new Middle East-inspired soft drink, designed and created in Worcestershire.

'Sweet Genie', which comes in original, strawberry, and blackcurrant flavour, is a carbonated soft drink based on the traditional liquorice root drinks, which have been popular across Egypt since the ancient Pharos.

Moustafa Elgendy, who moved from Egypt to England in 2011, created Sweet Genie after being unable to find anything similar in the UK.

Moustafa said: "Since launching Sweet Genie in August I have relied on feedback from members of the public who have tried the drinks.

"I have made changes to the original recipes based on customer comments and I welcome the opportunity to have a chat with people from Bromsgrove.”

Free samples of the drink, which is bottled at Pershore College, will be handed out to high street shoppers from 10am to 5pm.
