BROMSGROVE MP Sajid Javid has retained his post in cabinet following a re-shuffle, but will now work under a new title.

Mr Javid was named as the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government by Theresa May today.

He was previously the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government.

The new role suggests greater emphasis will be placed on Britain's housing market, which Mr Javid has previously called 'broken'.

Mr Javid said: "The name change for the department reflects this government’s renewed focus to deliver more homes and build strong communities across England.

"Building the homes our country needs is an absolute priority for this government and so I’m delighted the Prime Minister has asked me to serve in this role."
