SNOW and ice has forced Friday's Bromsgrove Market to be cancelled.

Organisers CJ's Events Warwickshire announced the decision today due to tomorrow's forecast, with the Met Office warning of more snow.

Bosses say the predicted snow and ice currently present poses a high risk to staff, traders and customers, citing health and safety as an important factor in their decision.

A spokesman for CJ’s Events Warwickshire said: “We have assessed the site and have monitored the forecast.

"Snow is predicted for over 24 hours which is due to start around 15:00hrs today.

"This decision hasn’t been taken lightly, but have to take advice from Met Office. Traders are being contacted.’

Bromsgrove market is planned to go ahead as usual on Saturday, March 3.
