A NEW Wildcats Girls' Football initiative has arrived in Bromsgrove, with aims to get more children involved in sport.

The Football Association and SSE teamed up last year to launch the programme at centre's across the country, with the next starting at Catshill Middle School, on Wednesday evenings starting April 11.

Catshill girls' team, who already play in the Mercian Fortis Girls Football League, hope to take on new members from the Wildcats scheme.

Wildcats coach and centre coordinator Alan Williams said: "Our SSE Wildcats Girls’ Football Centre will provide girls aged five to 11 with regular opportunities to play football.

"The initiative offers organised sessions in a fun and engaging environment created exclusively for girls."

Sessions will take place on a weekly basis at the Meadow Road school from 6pm to 7pm.
