A SMALL but elite group of cyclists from Bromsgrove took part in the annual London to Brighton cycling challenge in aid of the British Heart Foundation (BHF) on Sunday, June 21.
Team captain and logistics co-ordinator Stewart Smith was delighted that the route was completed in good time following several months of gruelling training in Worcestershire and Warwickshire.
The team was jointly sponsored by the Park Gate Inn in Bromsgrove and by the Stratford-based engineering design consultancy, Morgan Professional Services.
A spokesman for The Park Gate Inn said: “We were only too pleased to give this team our full backing, especially since the team have been planning the event for some months and have missed out on being with their families on Father’s Day.”
Stewart said that the team have been delighted with the request for sponsorship, having received over £3,000 in pledges, especially in the current financial climate. Anyone who wishes to make a further donation to the team and the BHF can visit www.justgiving.com/morganps.
