Young town performers can't wait for the curtain to go up

A GROUP of young performers will be hoping to impress when the curtain goes up on their production of a Shakespeare play.

After months of hard work by cast and crew, pupils from South Bromsgrove High School, in Charford Road, will finally get the chance to perform A Midsummer Night’s Dream on its opening night this Wednesday (February 10).

The play is one of Shakespeare’s earliest, and is a celebration of love, magic and comedy.

The cast have tried to capture the anarchic nature of the comedy, which is still humorous four hundred years after it was written.

South Bromsgrove High School teacher, Michaela Williams, said: “This performance is the culmination of months of hard work by the cast and crew and we hope that some of the fun, enthusiasm and passion that the cast have brought to the rehearsals, combines with the undeniable magic of this great comedy.”
