FOSTER care agency Pathway Care (Midlands) has been rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted for the quality of its service provision – the highest possible award from this regulatory government body.

The agency, which moved its regional support centre into the historic old workhouse building in Bromsgrove last year, has been congratulated by MP Sajid Javid.

Mr Javid said: ”The impressive Ofsted inspection report is clearly the result of the hard work and dedication of the Pathway Care team and its foster carers.

“I will be taking a keen interest in their continued development over the coming months and years.”

Joyce Masson, regional director of Pathway Care (Midlands), said: “I am delighted with the outcome of the inspection. Whilst we have our own internal standards of quality assurance, it is very pleasing to have a government body look on us so favourably. The Ofsted report highlighted the quality of our care and the sound outcomes for all the children in our care.

“This now means we will be placed on the Ofsted ‘outstanding’ suppliers list which is a great achievement and something to be proud of. I would like to take this opportunity to thank both the Pathway Care team for their outstanding commitment; and to our foster carers, who put so much time and effort into giving children the best possible chance to reach their full potential within a safe and supportive environment.

“Anyone thinking about fostering should feel very comfortable in contacting us, knowing they will receive all the ongoing support and training they need.”

There is currently an estimated shortage of some 10,000 foster carers across the country. For more details, contact the Pathway Care team on 0871 2263760, or visit www.pathwaycare.com.
