A BROMSGROVE group, aligned to a national popular online forum for mothers, is holding a swashbuckling event to raise awareness.

Bromsgrove netmums was set up in January for parents and grandparents to meet others, and help build a supportive network.

Netmums has grown both online and at the meet up groups, which meet regular at St Peter’s Community Centre, and has also forged links with Surestart centres and health visitors.

On Saturday, October 1, to officially launch the group in the town and raise awareness, Bromsgrove Netmums is holding a pirates and princesses themed fun day at St Peter’s RC Church Hall, in Rock Hill.

Youngsters are being encouraged to dress as a pirate or princess, and take part in a treasure hunt.

There will also be crafts, stories, toys for the little ones, and pirate themed songs.

There is a fee of £1.50, for the group to cover hall hire and materials, but refreshments are included in the price.

Clare Lally, the chairman of the group, said everyone is welcome to come along with their children, have a fun day, and get to know more about the group.
