A DOLLS house, which has been grabbing the attention of passers-by in Bromsgrove High Street, is to be auctioned to raise money for charity.

A generous Bromsgrove woman donated the dolls house to Oxfam Books and Music and although not the usual item the shops takes, staff were so impressed by the eye-catching house they decided to accept the donation.

The handmade Victorian-style house features eight rooms, dolls in period costume, a piano, spinning wheel, and furnature.

Shop manager, Anne Orchard, said: “When we put it in the shop window people kept stopping in the street to look at it.

"Hundreds of people have been in, asking us ‘how much is it?’.”

After becoming so popular, staff decided the best thing to do would be to auction it, ensuring it raised the most money for the Oxfam charity.

Adrian Powell, from town estate agents A Victor Powell, has agreed to be the auctioneer for the event, which will be held in store on Saturday, October 15, at noon.
