A POPULAR handmade dolls house, which grabbed the attention of High Street shoppers, has fetched hundreds for charity.
A generous town woman donated the dolls house to Oxfam Books and Music and after it was displayed in the front window of the shop hundreds of passers-by dropped in asking how much it cost.
Staff at the shop decided to auction the dolls house, with Adrian Powell, from A Victor Powell, agreeing to be the auctioneer.
The auction was held on October 15, and the house was sold to a bidder for £520. As the item was gift aided, the sale actually generated £650 for the Oxfam charity.
Shop manager Anne Orchard said she wanted to thank Adrian for the fantastic job he did conducting the auction, her staff who answered weeks of questions and enquires, and to everyone who took part in the final auction.
