BUDDING artists from a Bromsgrove school have seen their masterpieces go on display in a special exhibition.
Pupils from Fairfield First School were challenged to create a piece of art related to a country they were supporting, as well as Great Britain, in the Olympic Games.
The youngsters’ creations were then professionally mounted, framed and catalogued, and were put on display in Fairfield Art Gallery, the converted school hall, last Thursday, April 26.
Children and parents were invited in to visit the exhibition and money raised from pictures sold boosted school funds, which will be spent on helping to make the curriculum even more exciting and fun.
Danielle Skyrme, art co-ordinator at Fairfield First, organised the event and aimed to make the gallery feel as authentic as possible.
Helen Hedar, headteacher of the Stourbridge Road-based school, said: “We are always looking for ways to make learning fun and this exhibition has enabled all children to take part, and links together many curriculum areas in an enjoyable way.”
