RESIDENTS at a Bromsgrove care home were adding a touch of glamour to their lives recently with their own version of Ascot’s Ladies Day.

Female residents and staff at Regents Court Care Home on Stourbridge Road, dug out their best hats for the occasion, with men donning smart suits.

The home added to the racing theme for the day with inflatable horses which people were invited to play jockey to.

Speaking before the event, Regents Court administrator Claire Cardus said: “It will be the first time we have done anything like this and everyone is really looking forward to it.

“Everyone will be wearing their best dresses, hats and shirts and ties to make the event feel special.

“The residents will get to race their own blow-up horse and to place bets on the outcomes – it should be a lot of fun. The horses will be pulled along on strings and I’m sure everyone taking part will be hoping their horse will be first past the post.

“It’s something a bit different and it will bring a bit of glamour and fun to their lives.”
