Villagers prepare for Catshill's annual fun day

VILLAGERS are gearing up for Catshill’s annual fun day taking place this Saturday, June 30.

The annual fund-raising event is being held on Catshill Meadow, in the centre of the village off Meadow Road.

Organised by the charity the North West Ward Association, (NWWA) and supported by the local parish, district and county councils, the event offers something for everyone from Zumba demonstrations, astronomy, traditional stalls, and indoor-bowling outdoors.

Ahead of this summer’s Olympics, the event is being specially opened by Catshill-born European Duathlon Champion, Helen Russell.

Between 1-4pm there will be a wide variety of games, races and activities.

Ian Prust, chairman of the NWWA, said “This is the ninth year of Catshill Fun Day and it is going from strength-to-strength.

“All the money raised by the organising committee is spent on maintaining the Meadow facilities, including the play areas, pathway, changing rooms and football pitch, which is used by two local youth teams.”

There is plenty of room on the site, so Catshill residents who would like to attend with a charity stall or display still have the chance to get involved.
