YOUNGSTERS at a Bromsgrove school have held their own Olympic opening ceremony.

Year two pupils at Charford First School, in Charford Road, began a week of arts-related activities by creating, designing and performing the opening ceremony.

The ceremony featured hosts Ant and Dec, the lighting of the torch, competing Olympic athletes, and a mix of songs and dances inspired by sports featuring in the London games.

Assistant headteacher, Elaine Pemberton, said: “The children were amazing.

"They sang and danced so well and both the teachers and parents were very proud of them."
