Police investigate attempted robbery in which man threatened at knifepoint

POLICE are investigating an attempted robbery in which a man was threatened at knifepoint in Bromsgrove.

The incident happened at about 10.45pm on Saturday, July 9, in Chadcote Way, Catshill.

The victim, a man in his 60s, was walking along Chadcote Way when a man, who was walking on the opposite side of the road, shouted across to him and asked if he had any money.

He then crossed over the road and threatened the victim with a knife.

The offender momentarily lost his balance on the kerbside, and was pushed over by the victim causing him to fall into the road.

He then shouted something in a foreign language and was helped to his feet by two other men, before they all ran off empty handed towards Church Road.

The offender is said to have an Eastern European accent, is in his mid 30s, slim and was 6ft 6ins tall. He was wearing a black hooded top and black jeans.

PC Ash Kumar said: "The victim was very scared and left extremely shaken by the ordeal.

"We are eager to hear from anyone who was in the Chadcote Way area late on Saturday evening and thinks they may have seen these men or the robbery taking place."
