LOYAL NHS staff have received recognition for years of hard work and dedication at an awards ceremony.

Nearly 200 workers attended the Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust staff achievement awards.

The ceremony, hosted by BBC Hereford and Worcester’s Breakfast Show presenter Howard Bentham, was held at the Artrix theatre in Bromsgrove.

The ceremony began with long service awards being handed to staff who have worked for the NHS for 40 years or more.

The second half of the evening was dedicated to the staff achievement awards, with more than 30 workers or teams shortlisted across 12 categories. Among the winners was occupational therapist Sue Gordon-Saner, who works at the Princess of Wales Community Hospital in Bromsgrove. She picked up the Patients’ Choice Award.

Another winner was mental health nurse Helen Istifan who scooped the Patient Safety Award.

Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust chairman Chris Burdon said: “The staff achievement awards are a chance for us to show our appreciation to our dedicated, conscientious and loyal staff and volunteers.”
