STAFF at a residential care home in Bromsgrove have issued an appeal for an enthusiastic performer to make a resident’s wish come true.
At the beginning of the year residents at Housman Court each made a wish for a way they would like to spend a day, and one 79-year-old resident, Dennis, put in a request for a country and western day at the home.
Unfortunately, a day the home had organised fell through at the last minute, and now staff are on the hunt for entertainers to bring a country and western hoe-down to Housman Court.
Activities organiser Carina McAuliffe, said: “All of our residents made a wish at the beginning of the year, and I think it was just something that he’s enjoyed over the years. He’s a funny chap, really humorous, and he’s in and out of hospital regularly, but he was really looking forward to it. I got him a hat and everything.”
Staff are trying to find another local country and western singer, so that they can re-arrange the day, and they’re appealing for anyone willing to entertain residents to get in touch on 01527 575440 or call Ms McAuliffe on 07710 480502.
