PUPILS at Bromsgrove School have enjoyed discovering European culture.

Youngsters at the Worcester Road school celebrated European Languages Day with a host of activities from Wednesday, September 26 - Friday, September 28.

Senior school students visited the younger pupils to lead a range of learning events. Sixth form members visited the pre-preparatory school to introduced pupils to German and French languages and culture. The pupils enjoyed a French brunch and a European lunchtime feast.

This year, the day coincided with the arrival of a group of German exchange students from the senior school in Potsdam. The German pupils visited a variety of lessons at the prep school, including a particularly lively question and answer session with a year eight class. There was also an international quiz in which England competed against Germany.

The year three classes spent a French lesson learning about different languages spoken in Europe and about the importance of languages in the business world.

Year four youngsters were treated to a special breakfast, but they were required to ask for their snack of croissants and hot chocolate in German or Spanish.

Mr Clarkson, a parent who lives and works in Luxembourg, visited to speak with the pupils about how important languages are in the wider world.
