Chance to zoom in on success in town competition
3:10pm Sunday 21st October 2012 in Local
KEEN town photographers are being encouraged to get snapping for a new competition to find iconic photos of Bromsgrove.
The photos are needed for the Better Bromsgrove website, which shows why the town is a great place to live, work and visit.
Photos can be of anything, but those identifiable as Bromsgrove will have an advantage.
Photographers can be of all abilities and ages, but their images must fit into one of three categories; business in Bromsgrove, living in Bromsgrove and the town’s culture and heritage.
Winners will have their photographs feature on the website and have full credits.
There are other prizes, provided by town businesses, on offer to photographers of the winning snaps, including a day’s professional photography tuition from DCZ Photography, a night’s accommodation including dinner, breakfast and beauty treatments at Bromsgrove’s Holiday Inn, and family admission and high tea for two at Avoncroft Museum.
All the category winners and runners-up will receive certificates at a special presentation in December.
Bromsgrove District Councillor Del Booth, who is responsible for the town centre regeneration programme, said: “When we first set up the Better Bromsgrove website we thought it would be nice to invite people from the community to submit pictures to be used on it, instead of going down the same old route of employing someone to take a set of photos.
“It is my pleasure to invite anyone who likes to take pictures to be a part of the project.”
Snappers are asked to email their photographs, in any format, to regeneration@bromsgrove.gov.uk.
The deadline for entries is Friday, November 16.
