Bromsgrove burglaries investigated by police
5:20pm Friday 19th October 2012 in Local
TWO town burglaries are being investigated by Bromsgrove police.
One of the incidents took place between 7.40am-4pm in Green Hill, Burcot, on Tuesday, October 16.
Thieves broke into the house by smashing a window, causing £150 damage, and took a number of items.
These included a black Sony laptop worth £2,000, two Kindle eBooks worth £150 each, a silver and pearl necklace containing five inset pearls worth £200, a white gold necklace worth £50, a Stuart Crystal vase worth £46, US dollars worth £150, and a small amount of sterling.
The second incident happened at a property in New Road, Aston Fields, between 1.30-7pm, on the same day.
A front door was forced, causing £100 damage, and a black Toshiba laptop and a grey Sony Vaio laptop were stolen.
Police say they are currently not linking the incidents, but police would like to hear from anyone who remembers seeing any suspicious activity in either area, around the time.
House-to-house inquiries have been carried out in both areas, high visibility patrols have been increased, and leaflets have been delivered door-to-door.
Police are reminding residents to ensure their homes are locked at all times, and not to leave windows open when they are out or leave keys where they can be reached by thieves.
